Become a Musher: Husky Dog Training & Overnight Lodge Stay

5 days and 4 nights dog training experience. Live close to our working husky kennel and learn what it takes to prepare sled dogs for the winter season. This autumn experience is built around daily kennel routines, dog care, training runs with sleds on wheels, and plenty of time with the huskies. Accommodation and meals Accommodation is close to the kennel, and all transport is included — transfers to and from Lakselv Airport, plus transport between the accommodation and the kennel. All meals are included from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 5. You can choose between two accommodation types: • Apartment at the lodge, located about 5 minutes from the kennel, with transfers included. • Glamping tent by the kennel — a rustic but cozy option with an oven and beds, and the huskies as your closest neighbors. Simple toilet, no shower. Program Day 1 – Arrival and first kennel visit Arrive in the evening, check in at your accommodation, meet the huskies during evening feeding, then enjoy dinner and your first overnight stay. Day 2 – Training basics and first run Join morning feeding, get an introduction to training equipment, and learn how we prepare a dog team. If temperatures allow, you take part in a sledding-on-wheels training session. After the run, help unharness the dogs and bring them back to their kennels. Lunch is served at the kennel or at your accommodation. In the afternoon, join a husky hike or free-running session before evening feeding, dinner, and overnight stay. Day 3 – Longer adventure and puppy walk Morning feeding is followed by a longer dog training tour. After the run, help with dog care routines such as massaging, stretching, nail cutting, and basic paw care. In the afternoon, rest or spend free time with the huskies before feeding. In the evening, join a puppy or husky walk, followed by dinner and overnight stay. Day 4 – Final long ride and husky time Start with morning feeding and a dog training tour, depending on temperature. After lunch, enjoy husky time for cuddles, free running, and photos before another training tour. In the evening, feed the dogs and share a farewell dinner before your final overnight stay. Day 5 – Goodbye huskies Join the final morning feeding, say goodbye to the dogs, and transfer to the airport.
