Off-track arctic ski adventure Introduction Did you know that Finnmark is one of Europe’s last true wilderness areas? Join a unique off-track ski expedition deep in the Arctic, far from groomed trails and crowded routes. This adventure invites you to explore the vast landscapes of Finnmark while learning backcountry ski techniques, winter camping skills, and experiencing the quiet companionship of our sled dogs along the way. You will learn how to travel safely in winter terrain, set up camp in Arctic conditions, and live the expedition life day by day. One or two dogs will accompany the group, offering both company and light pulling assistance. This expedition is designed for curious explorers, nature lovers, and adventurous spirits seeking a true Arctic experience. Day 1: Arrival Arrival at Lakselv Airport and transfer to Børselv. Once settled in at the lodge, you’ll meet the dogs and your guides. Introduction to equipment, safety briefing, route overview and training in ski techniques and essential expedition skills. Overnight at the authentic Børselv lodge, with dinner included. Day 2–6: Ski expedition After breakfast, transfer from the lodge to the starting point of the expedition. You will be introduced to your sled and expedition gear before setting off across the stunning Finnmark plateau. The route will be adapted to weather and snow conditions. If conditions are favorable along the coast, we will ski north, including one night in a heated gamme tent camp. You will ski through wide open landscapes, mountains and remote wilderness areas. Learn essential Arctic skills such as building camp, managing cold conditions, and living comfortably outdoors in winter. Meals are prepared outdoors, and evenings are spent sharing stories around the campfire. Overnight in expedition tents in the Arctic wilderness. Day 7: Final day of skiing In the afternoon, return to the lodge in Børselv. Relax in the sauna and enjoy a celebratory dinner while sharing memories from the journey. Overnight at the lodge. Day 8: Departure After a relaxed breakfast, transfer back to Lakselv Airport for departure.
